The Ultimate Couples Posing Guide for Your Studio Session
Coming to a self-portrait studio for a date is a brilliant idea, but once the camera is in front of you, you might wonder: how do we actually pose? The key to great couples' portraits isn't about perfectly staged positions — it's about capturing the connection between two people.
Here's our guide to getting natural, beautiful photos during your Selfieroom session.
1. The Classic Interaction
Don't just look at the camera. Look at each other! Laugh, whisper a joke, or just share a quiet moment. These candid-style shots often become the favorites because they feel more authentic and less "posed."
2. Differing Levels
To add visual interest, try having one person sit while the other stands. This creates a more dynamic composition and allows for more natural-feeling physical contact, like a hand on a shoulder or leaning in close.
3. The "Back-to-Back"
Stand back-to-back and look over your shoulders at the camera or at each other. This is a great way to show off your outfits while maintaining a sense of partnership and fun.
4. Close and Cozy
Don't be afraid of the "close crop." Lean in tight, foreheads touching, or have one person wrap their arms around the other. These intimate shots work beautifully in both our Unicolor and Polychromic setups.
5. Move Around!
The best photos often happen in between the "main" poses. Walk together, dance a little, or just move naturally in the space. Our remote shutter allows you to capture these fluid moments as they happen.
6. Complement Your Outfits
Coordinate without being too "matchy-matchy." Choose colors that complement each other and the background you've chosen. (Check out our guide on What to Wear for more tips!)
